The short version
On October 8, 2026, Rockstar revealed the first six radio stations in Grand Theft Auto VI, each with its own celebrity hosts and three previewed tracks — 18 songs so far. You can hear previews of all six in the music section of the official GTA VI website. More stations are still to come, with genres including classic rock, rap, dance, 1980s electronic, blues and talk radio.
Radio Has Always Been GTA's Secret Weapon
Ask anyone about their favourite GTA moment and there's a good chance a song is attached to it. From Vice City's 80s soundtrack to the talk-radio satire of Liberty City and Los Santos, radio has always done as much world-building as any mission. GTA VI's return to Vice City makes that legacy especially fitting — and Rockstar is clearly treating the soundtrack as a headline feature, not a background detail.
The reveal also comes three weeks after Rockstar announced Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, a 34-track companion record releasing alongside the game on November 19, with artists including Travis Scott, Rauw Alejandro, PinkPantheress and Keith Richards.

A First for the Series: Podcasts and Earbuds
The bigger structural change isn't a station at all. GTA VI introduces a series of on-demand podcasts — a first for the franchise — for Jason and Lucia to listen to beyond Leonida's terrestrial radio.
For the first time, radio and podcasts aren't limited to vehicles. Jason and Lucia can keep listening on foot through headphones and earbuds connected to their phones — so the soundtrack follows you out of the car and onto the streets of Vice City.
What We Don't Know Yet
Rockstar hasn't said how many stations there will be in total, which talk-radio shows are coming, or which podcasts will be available at launch. It also hasn't detailed whether there will be any options aimed at streamers and video creators — licensed music has historically been a headache for anyone broadcasting GTA gameplay, so that's worth watching as launch approaches.
Rockstar has been dropping new GTA VI announcements on Thursdays in the run-up to launch — the Extended Look, The Album and now the radio stations all landed that way. If the pattern holds, more stations could well arrive before pre-loading opens on November 12. As always, GTA VI launches as a single-player experience on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19; no online mode or PC version has been announced yet. We'll cover anything multiplayer-related the moment it lands — and if you're planning a community for launch, our launch day checklist is the place to start.
